Who’s behind this
I’m Theodore Arends. My family and I run Story Night Studios here in Greenville, full time, and I create and review every portrait myself. I’m a parent of three, and two of our children spent their early years in daycare, so I know how much these moments mean to families and how seriously you take their photos. Leah and I are both approved Level II volunteers with Greenville County Schools, which includes a criminal background check.
Before this, I spent 20 years in sales and business with large consumer-goods and family-owned companies, most recently leading a 20-person sales team across the Southeast with a multimillion-dollar budget. I know what you want from a vendor: clear pricing, a simple process, and someone who answers the phone.

How the portraits are made
Each portrait is an AI-assisted illustration, and I direct every step. I start by checking your photo and cropping it so the tools have a clean source, and I read any notes you send. I then create multiple versions with top-tier AI models and compare each one to your original myself. Every portrait also goes through a custom quality filter I built, which scores each version against your original, and only versions that clear my standard move on to my final review. If anything is off, I make real edits or start over.
The workflow is custom, built and tested over many months for this one portrait style. AI is a tool, and a tool is only as good as the craft behind it. I’ve worked hands-on with AI for years and advise businesses on it through Cardinal Systems & Strategy.

What happens to our photos?
They are used only to make your portraits, are never sold, and are never posted publicly. Portraits are created and checked on a private account, so nothing is visible to the public, and the tool’s terms say private content is not used to train its AI models. Photos and finished portraits are deleted 60 days after delivery, or within one business day if you ask. See our Privacy Policy.
Are you insured?
Yes. Story Night Studios, LLC carries commercial general liability insurance ($1 million per occurrence, $2 million aggregate) and professional liability insurance ($1 million per claim, $2 million aggregate), plus cyber liability coverage. We’re glad to send a certificate of insurance on request.

How much work is it for my team?
The one real decision is how your team wants to set it up internally: who collects the photos, and where they get sent. That is a short conversation, and once it is set, it is routine. You send your logo once, then submit photos as they come in. I create, review and email back each batch, one portrait or ten. I never contact your customers on my own, and you decide who receives one.

Every portrait prints crisply up to about 11×14 inches. Add Upscale when a customer wants a big wall print.

More than a print in a frame. Your customer’s portrait, made to order as one finished piece: archival paper, a generous 2-inch bevel-cut mat, a solid wood frame in black or natural oak, and a clear acrylic front. It arrives ready to hang, about 14×16 inches, larger than most people expect. You get a proof to approve before anything is printed, or you can skip it, and the digital portrait is included.

- Credits are valid for 12 months from purchase. A one-time 90-day extension is available if you ask before they expire.
- After that, any unused value converts once into new portrait credits worth 50% of what was left, good for 6 months. No cash refunds.
